Tomb Sweeping Day - Public Holiday in China & Hong Kong

The Tomb Sweeping Day, also known as the traditional Qing Ming Festival is a day for remembrance whereby the Chinese will visit and pay respect to their ancestors at the graveyards or burial grounds...
Traditional Chinese Festival - Tomb Sweeping Day
In general, the young and old would pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer symbolic offerings such as rice, chicken, roasted meat, tea, wine, joss paper accessories and etc… On top of this, incenses and 'spirit money' are burnt as a form of offering. Another common practice is to carry flowers instead of burning paper, incense or firecrackers…
Basically, it is about maintaining the tomb and give offerings… Does this sound familiar to you yet? Perhaps, you have witnessed a similar situation from what Mulan does in the Disney Channel! It is an opportunity for celebrants to reminisce and honor the memory of their forebears at the grave sites on this Memorial Day.
Last of all, The Tomb Sweeping Day is an official public holiday in China. Please note that our buying office based in China (Zhu Hai, Sheng Zhen, Shang Hai) will be closed from 2-4th April 2012... But ODM Asia Hong Kong will be opened for this Holiday.
